The brothers Finn Walther and Martin A. Walther from Norway started the film production company Walther Bros in 2019. They have since produced several award-winning short films that adresses themes of underdogs, exclusion and radicalization. Pet Farm started as a short documentary project, but it later expanded into their first feature film endeavor.
As a director, I've always loved making films for and about young audiences, while also resonating with grown-ups. This short film explores a universal theme we can all relate to: the curiosity and uncertainty children experience when confronted with danger. Through the eyes of 4-year-old Niels, the main character, I aim to capture that moment of wonder and hesitation - what happens if I try this? My hope is that the audience will not only laugh but also reflect on how children begin to navigate and assess risks in their world.
